Strongman, a Ghanaian rapper, has publicly expressed regret for involving actress Fella Makafui in his spat with fellow singer Medikal.
In a recent interview, Strongman stated that involving Fella in the public altercation was a mistake and apologized for any hurt caused.
The conflict between Strongman and Medikal drew a lot of attention in Ghana’s entertainment industry, with both musicians trading diss recordings and engaging in social media discussions.
However, tensions rose when Strongman mentioned Fella Makafui, Medikal’s girlfriend, in one of his tunes, shortly after Medikal mentioned Strongman’s girlfriend Nana Ama. This move prompted outrage and anger from fans and industry experts alike.
In retrospect, Strongman admitted that enlisting Fella Makafui in the feud was a mistake. He apologized for any hurt sentiments or unpleasant repercussions resulting from his conduct, adding that his purpose was never to bring harm to anyone outside of the music rivalry.
In an interview with TV3, Strongman clarified on his viewpoint, saying,
“I always want the beef to be just between me and you. Like right now, I just saw Fela, and we need to vibe. But when we have to vibe, that means when we are doing beef songs, we shouldn’t involve, you know.” He further added, “I only do replies. So I only replied because Medikal mentioned my wife. But deep down, I was not happy with it because insulting an innocent girl was not part of it. I didn’t like it.”
The rapper emphasized the importance of focusing on music and artistic expression rather than personal attacks or controversies, and warned other rappers against involving their rivals’ significant others in any beef they may have, advocating for a more respectful approach to rivalry.
The Strongman-Medikal dispute broke out shortly after Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale clashed at the VGMA, contributing to the heightened tensions in Ghana’s music business at the time.
