In response to rumors about her age, especially after actress Pascaline Edwards made comments about her own age and professional path, Nana Ama McBrown has answered.
In a previous interview with Pulse Ghana, veteran actress Pascaline Edwards disclosed her age and voiced her dissatisfaction at being passed over for opportunities by regional filmmakers.
“I may look youthful, but they’ve decided I’m too old. I’m barely 53, soon to be 54, and I still have more energy and freshness than many younger actors. So, I implore the casting directors to consider me,” Pascaline said before.
Following this disclosure, several conjectured that Nana Ama McBrown and Pascaline might be of similar age.
Regarding McBrown’s claim that she is still in her forties, there has been doubt. Some people speculate that because of McBrown’s lengthy career in the film industry, she and Pascaline may have been contemporaneous.
Nana Ama McBrown has responded to these allegations by saying she doesn’t feel compelled to prove her age to doubters. She said that people are welcome to make any assumptions they want about her age.
The Onua Showtime host underlined that Pascaline was already well-known in the profession when she had just started performing.
“Pascaline was already making waves with her films like ‘A Stab in the Back’ when I hadn’t made my screen debut. If you want to think of me as an 85-year-old, that’s fine by me,” she declared on her Onua TV program.
She concluded by saying, “Ultimately, these opinions don’t affect me. They don’t diminish my bank balance in the slightest.”
McBrown stated in her conclusion that she is unaffected by these viewpoints and that they also have no effect on her financial situation.
