Celine Dion suffers from stiff man syndrome, also known as Moersch-Woltmann syndrome. This uncommon neurological condition causes progressive muscle stiffness and severe spasms. The condition led the musician to halt her Courage World Tour and cancel numerous shows.
Celine Dion’s return to the stage is uncertain. In a Vogue interview, she stated that while she has not overcome the condition, she is optimistic about finding a solution.
“I hope we find a miracle, some way to cure it through scientific research, but for now I have to live with it,” she said.
The musician also stated that her re
turn to the stage is quite dubious. “I have two possibilities to select from. Either I’ll train like an athlete and work extremely hard, or I’ll turn off and stay at home, listen to my music, stand in front of the mirror, and sing to myself. I opted to collaborate with my medical team on all aspects of my body and spirit, from head to toe. “I want to be in the best shape possible,” she stated in an interview with Vogue.
On June 25, Prime Video will release a documentary about Celine Dion. The film is titled I Am Celine Dion.
