Sarkodie, a Ghanaian rap icon, has given his thoughts on Ghana’s music royalties system, highlighting the significance of adopting an organized system to ensure artists receive their proper revenue.
Sarkodie stated this at a panel discussion at the 3i Africa Summit Partners and Stakeholders Mixer, which was held in Accra yesterday.
The panel discussed the intersection of the creative industry, policy, and fintech. During the conversation, Sarkodie shed light on Ghana’s music royalties system, highlighting the significance of developing an organized system to ensure artists receive their fair compensation.
“The royalty system has been a big issue here in Ghana but it’s something so little to do, it’s not that hard it’s just putting the system in place and just getting the money back” he said.
Sarkodie was joined on the panel by notable figures such as KOD, Chief Moomen, and director Juliet Asante.
