Today, Google revealed its newest range of Pixel-related features for smartphones, tablets, and wearables. These features include the ability to view Instagram videos in 10-bit, the Circle feature’s expansion to include search functionality, automatic exercise detection on the original Pixel watch, and selective app screening for multiple Pixel devices.
Updates for Pixel phones
Instagram users can now record and share 10-bit HDR videos, according to the company. It is also adding support for Instagram users to share Ultra HDR photos. Users of the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold can access this feature.
With the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series in January, Google debuted its “Circle to search” feature, which allows users to circle an object on the screen to conduct a search. Users of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were able to access the feature later in the month, according to the company. According to Google, owners of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will soon be able to utilize this feature.
Google has enhanced its call screening feature with features like conversation mode. In this mode, the new Pixel Drop has a “Hello” chip that prompts Google Assistant to encourage a caller to speak. If you are unable to screen the call immediately, the assistant may also request that the caller wait.
Updates on Pixel Watch
In order to improve user training, Google is releasing two updates for the original Pixel Watch: Pace training and Heart Zone training. When you deviate from the pace range you set before the workout, the pace training mode uses motion sensors and GPS to alert you. Similar to this, heart rate ranges are monitored by the Heart Zone training mode.
The first-generation Pixel Watch now has automatic workout start and stop detection thanks to the latest update.
The Fitbit Relax app, which promotes mindfulness and guided experiences, is also being made available for both Pixel Watches by the company.
Updates portfolio
Google is going to release an update that will enable you to share the screen of a single app during a video call on all devices, including the Pixel 5a and later models, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold.
Furthermore, through subsequent pairing features, the company is enabling the rapid pairing of a previously used Bluetooth accessory that is compatible with FastPair with a new device.
On the Pixel Tablet and Pixel 8 and later models, the company is also enabling users to annotate documents with their finger or a stylus. With the latest update, the Pixel Tablet gains the ability to have the keyboard resize to a smaller size when voice input is being used.
