The Public Health Department of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) detained three Nigerians for allegedly selling aphrodisiacs and a mysterious liquid substance marketed as a heart cleaner.
The suspects, who were apprehended for selling unauthorized pharmaceuticals to the public following a tip-off, are presently in police custody, aiding with investigations to discover the substance’s origin and composition. They would then be arraigned.
According to the American Medical Association’s Health Department, preliminary tests found that the alleged heart cleaner caused the melting of a plastic takeout pack when poured on it, adding to the substance’s potential health risks.

The seven were detained for allegedly slaughtering three people at Kyekyire, near Brongkong, in the Ashanti Region’s Afigya Kwabre South District.

According to eyewitnesses, the event on December 30, 2023, was caused by a confrontation between two groups of young males.
Joyce Osei Assibey, the assembly member for the Kyekyire-Kyerease electoral region, verified this to Citi News.
She added that a group of young guys holding weapons began pelting stones at some people and vandalizing automobiles at their Kyekyire apartment.

In retaliation the young men clashed with the group, killing three people and injuring others.
Seven people were later detained on suspicion of being involved in the incident.
The assembly member for the neighborhood said that the event has left people fearful, with some abandoning their houses.
