Bayport Savings and Loans PLC, a major financial services provider in Ghana’s Savings and Loans sector, has established an Information Security Management System (ISMS) to comply with the Bank of Ghana’s 2018 Cyber and Information Security Directive.
Certi-Trust, a global certification authority specialized in information security, cybersecurity, and privacy protection, gave the firm ISO 27001 accreditation for their information security management system.
ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard for information security management systems. It specifies the standards that an ISMS must follow in order to secure the security, integrity, and availability of an organization’s data.
Conformance to ISO 27001 implies that an organization has built a system to handle data security risks, in accordance with the best practices and principles of this international standard.
“This certification underscores Bayport Savings and Loans PLC’s dedication and capability to manage information securely, providing reliable and trustworthy services to its customers, partners, and stakeholders.
It also enhances the company’s reputation and competitiveness in the market, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations,” the company said in a statement.
