According to Kevin Taylor, Sarkodie is cautious to criticize the present administration since his family is financially dependent on it.
Taylor said that the NPP administration supported Sarkodie in transporting narcotics via Kotoka Airport, which resulted in his name being placed on a list of those wanted for drug trafficking.Taylor further said that Sarkodie is well aware of the country’s corruption and misdeeds but has decided to keep silent.
Kevin Taylor’s remarks were in reaction to Sarkodie’s tweet against the Ghana Police Service’s barbaric handling of peaceful demonstrators. Netizens chastised Sarkodie for his tweet, which provided minimal criticism of the administration, accusing him of hypocrisy.
As previously reported, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, a demonstration named “Occupy Julorbi House” culminated in police detaining protestors and employing force, notably against journalist Bridget Otoo.
Numerous celebrities, including Sarkodie, have denounced the police and the administration for their brutal response to what was fundamentally a peaceful rally.
Sarkodie’s remark, which stated, “You can only be scared of a peaceful protest when you know you deserve otherwise,” drew criticism on social media, with some users claiming he would have been more outspoken if the NDC had been in power.
