The Tema Motorway, formerly considered to be among Ghana’s greatest highways, has gotten worse over time and is currently in a horrible condition.
There are several potholes on the road, some of which have turned into death traps and resulted in accidents.
Social media has already been used by some Ghanaians to call on the government to repair the Tema highway.
Twitter users have started using the hashtags #FixTheMotorway and #FixTheTemaMotorway to report their experiences on the hazardous highway.
I swerved to avoid a pothole on the Tema Motorway, and as a result, I lost control of my automobile, a Twitter user stated. I am fortunate to be alive.
Another user said, “A pothole on the Tema Motorway caused my automobile to break down. For a tow truck, I waited for several hours.
Sarkodie, a legendary rapper from Ghana who grew up in Tema, has also gotten behind the effort to persuade the government to repair the Tema Motorway. On Twitter, he said, “About time #FixTheTemaMotorway.”
The “Adonai” rapper was responding to a post from the “Ghana Mu Nsem” account, which urged him to lend his support to the “Fix the Motorway” campaign and urge the government to intervene.
