Samini Dagaati, a Reggae Dancehall artist, has stated that he was one of the quickest sprinters in Greater Accra during his high school days.
Despite his football prowess, Samini picked athletics as his favorite sport at an early age. He stated that throughout his stay at Accra High School, he represented his school in short sprint events and always finished first.
on Angel FM. Those who knew me while I was at Holy Family in Mataheko knew I was an athlete. Unfortunately, because my Senior High School was new, I was unable to participate in athletics.”
Samini went on to say that he routinely competed in 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4×100 relay competitions, and he was frequently among the top finishers, winning nine out of ten occasions.
He even reached the Greater Accra shortlist for the 100-meter event shortly after graduating from Junior High School.
