A guy in his 30s was detained by the Kasoa District Police Command for severely hitting two people with a hammer during a disagreement between several tenants.
One of the attack victims is presently being treated at Kasoa’s Mother and Child Hospital for neurological symptoms.
Edmond Ampomah, the victim who is still in the hospital, nearly died when his head was pounded with a hammer by the defendant, Kwabena Brenya, a commercial driver.
The victim told Citi News that on the evening of Monday, August 28, 2023, an altercation erupted between the victim’s brother’s wife and the suspect, who happened to be co-tenants in Otacity, a neighborhood of Akweley in Kasoa.
Some family members choose the victim to attend to the problem and get it resolved.
However, suspect Brenya’s temper rose and she assaulted the victims who were caught off guard with a hammer.
Edmond, one of the casualties, fell at the scene and was brought to Kasoa’s Mother and Child Hospital, where he is presently being treated.
A scan performed on the victim by professionals revealed a fracture in his skull, as well as neurological issues.
The suspect has now been detained and is cooperating with police investigations.
