A Tamale police officer is being held for allegedly stealing three motorbikes confiscated following an attack on the court by enraged youngsters in the neighborhood.
The defendants who were detained were given bail today, and the police invited the motorbike owners to appear with the documentation for their bikes.
One of the owners went to the police station and was unable to locate his motorcycle. However, because he had a tracker on the bike, he began monitoring it, which led him to the police officer’s room.
He informed the police, who followed the motorcyclist to the room and discovered three motorbikes.
The cop has been arrested and is being held in jail.
A gang of furious adolescents rushed the courthouse and showered it with stones, breaking fittings and wounding a police officer. Thirteen people were detained.
The teens were protesting an alleged drug dealer who they said was being protected by cops.
