The Trace Awards have recognized Ghanaian music phenomenon Black Sherif, nominating him for Best Artist Africa Anglophone and Best Collaboration for his remix of “Second Sermon” with Burna Boy.
The popular tune “Sugarcane” by Camidoh has earned him a nomination for Song of the Year.
The chairman and co-founder of the awards, Olivier Laouchez, praised the exceptional originality and vitality shown by African artists.
Due to his constant performance of hit songs, which demonstrated his creative talent and commitment, the Konongo star attracted attention from all over the world. Notably, during the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Black Sherif received the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.
Camidoh’s breakthrough single “Sugarcane” attracted a lot of attention and peaked at number 10 in Ghana and throughout the African music market in 2022.
The Trace Awards event is scheduled to take place at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, on October 21, 2023.
