TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew claimed in an interview that has now gone viral that he does not let his children to use TikTok.
The March 2023 interview surprised several social media users by explaining why some parents allow their children to use the app while its CEO has barred his children from using it.
Shou Zi Chew has two children, ages eight and six. He believes that his children are far too young for the social networking platform.
During the interview, he stressed that children under the age of adolescence must be supervised when using the program.
Chew insisted that it was a legal obligation for children under the age of 13 to have a separate app. However, he also stated that he would not relax the limitation so that children may use TikTok.
The CEO of the social networking app said that there were age limitations when registering for the platform. He goes on to say that such limitations were more stringent in the United States than in other countries.In the conversation, the Singaporean entrepreneur discussed a feature dubbed ‘Family Pairing’ that allows parents to watch more of their children’s behavior for increased safety.
