Fameye, a Ghanaian singer, is warning fellow musicians to be wary of managers who are more concerned with their own celebrity than the well-being of the artists they represent.
On August 14, Fameye posted on Facebook, warning musicians not to sign contracts with managers that put their own success over the artists’.
He stated that while such managers may appear to be helpful, they can actually be destructive effects.
“If you are an artiste and your manager wants to be a super star than you? Be careful, is either you signed a wrong deal or a Devil came in a form of an angel (sic)💡,” he posted.
Fameye’s message is likely a wake-up call to his colleagues to be aware of the types of supervisors they choose to work with in order to avoid future squabbles.
He hopes that his message will serve as a reminder to his fellow musicians to choose their managers wisely in order to avoid future problems.
Fameye, real name Peter Famiyeh Bozah, rose to prominence after appearing in the third season of MTN Hitmaker.
He is best known for his song “Nothing I Get”. At the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, he was named Best New Artist of the Year.
