Sista Afia, a musician, has spoken up about a betrayal from an ex-boyfriend that changed her perspective on relationships.
During an interview with Emelia Brobbey on Adom TV’s Okukuseku show, musician Sista Afia opened up about a traumatic betrayal she experienced in a previous relationship, which dramatically changed her sense of love.
Sista Afia admitted that she had tried to embrace the thrill and passion of youth at the time, which led her to enter a relationship with someone who turned out to be the wrong person for her.
Her boyfriend having a child with another woman was one of the early warning signals, she admitted. Despite this red flag, she admits to being blinded by love and continuing the relationship.
When she realized that her spouse had married another woman while they were still together, she was devastated. Her faith in the pure love she thought they had was destroyed by the realization.
Sista Afia preferred to keep some aspects private, but she admits to being greatly moved by the heartlessness she observed, especially since she had never expected such behavior from someone she had known for many years.
Sista Afia stated that her ex-partner failed to acknowledge her worth, possibly because her future was uncertain at the moment. She went on to say, “Where I am now, I doubt he ever saw me getting here.”
She stated that she has adopted an open-minded approach to partnerships based on her personal experience. She now knows that having fewer expectations can lead to fewer disappointments, according to her.
She advised women to be prepared for everything and to be strong so that when the worst happens, they can go on with their life and not dwell on the past.
