Akwasi Boadi, also known as Akrobeto, a legendary Ghanaian movie actor and TV presenter, has demolished any preconceptions of financial difficulties in the Ghanaian film business.
His remark comes after numerous of his colleagues claimed that acting did not pay enough for actors to make a living, let alone build mansions.
Anyone who claims Kumawood actors and actresses cannot construct houses or make a good career from acting is a ‘huge’ liar, he claims.
In a candid interview with Precise FM, the movie actor revealed that he built a house with the money he earned from performing, and that he hopes to build another house for himself and his children. He mentioned that the excellent life he is leaving is due to some good money he was able to make via performing.
To a greater extent, the host of UTV’s ‘REAL NEWS’ named several performers who have been able to make a livelihood off what they earn in the movie business.
”Anyone who says that does not know what he or she is saying. I have a house and even planning on getting another one. I even what to build a house each for my children. And I was able to do that with the money I earned from acting. Look at Lywin, see the school he has built. What Job does he do? Is it not acting? So what are they trying to say?” he asked.
