Snap Chavis Wayne Black Sherif’s former manager recently discussed the significant impact the artist’s departure had on him.
Chavis was devastated by Black Sherif’s departure as the current “Artiste of the Year” at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards because of the significant investment he had put in the musician.
Chavis claimed in a tweet posted by Hitz FM that “Black Sherif’s exit from my camp affected the label because when you put all your trust and investment in someone and they leave, obviously you will be affected.”
This incident’s dissatisfaction has driven Chavis to alter his viewpoint. Instead of thinking of the musicians he signs as members of his family, he now approaches them as business partners.
“I no longer feel that sense of ‘family’ toward artists today. My agreement with my existing performers is wholly commercial. Not personal matters,” Chavis remarked.
This information reveals the emotional toll that such terminations may have on managers and labels who devote time, energy, and money to advancing the careers of musicians.
