Blakk Rasta, a controversial reggae singer, spoke out about the breakdown of his relationship with Shatta Wale, a dancehall performer, and blamed it on their pronounced differences.
Blakk Rasta recently aired his dissatisfaction during an interview on King Lagazee’s Yaad Settingz show on Asaase 99.5 Accra.
“You know he’s been my friend from the start, but unfortunately, negative influences like ego and other factors came in to destroy our bond.”
Despite the longstanding feud between the two artists, Blakk Rasta mentioned his newfound excitement, revealing,
“I am thrilled now because we have been at odds for nearly 20 years.”The composer of the hit song “Barack Obama (Root version)” reflected on a crucial occasion and said, “In fact, the day I heard him speak on Facebook Live, I had goosebumps all over me.”
During Shatta Wale’s online session, Blakk Rasta described an unexpected turn of events, adding, “He announced that he was going to address the matter of Blakk Rasta and encouraged his supporters to check in. His typical demeanor was what I expected.
“However,” Blakk Rasta continued, “he surprised me by declaring that he would block anyone who speaks ill of me. It made me realize that a man who deeply cares for his fans is willing to distance himself from some of them if they disrespect me.”
Blakk Rasta has been outspoken about his dissatisfaction with Shatta Wale throughout the years, labeling him as unappreciative and a bad role model for young people.
The details from Blakk Rasta give light on the depth of their differences and the complexity of their relationship. Any new developments in their protracted conflict will be keenly anticipated by both artists’ fans and following.
