The Asokore Mampong District Court in the Ashanti Region has remanded a police inspector for the second time in connection with the suspected murder of his girlfriend, Victoria Dapaah.
Victoria Dapaah, 26, also known as Maa Adwoa, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, on April 20, 2023 at Adum, just a few meters from her home.
During his initial court appearance, the suspect admitted to the crime but argued that he did not intend to kill “his lover.”
The defendant appeared in court for the second time after being on remand, and he was formally charged with murder when the prosecution obtained guidance from the Attorney General’s office.

During the court proceedings, ACP Kofi Blagodzi, the Ashanti Region’s head of legal and prosecutions, assured family members of the deceased present that the police administration is committed to ensuring that justice is served in the matter, as the Attorney General’s office has given its advice and the committal processes will begin during the next hearing.
