Ghanaian actor Yaw Dabo has spoken out about his age after his interview with Marca in Spain went viral.
During an interview with Wontumi TV, the Kumawood actor stated why he claims to be 24 years old.
Dabo stated that he was going to lie about his age when he realized he was on a mission in Europe to raise funds for his football academy, which required him to maintain integrity and honesty at all times.
The actor stated that he learned a lot during his time overseas and did not expect his interview with Marca regarding his age to “blow” and go viral.
He claimed that when his interviewer, a journalist from the sports media portal Marca, asked him about his age, he paused for a few seconds before declaring he was 24 years old.
“When the white man asked me about my age, I did not want to mention it. If you watched the video, I was a bit hesitant, I wanted to change my age but I reconsidered my decision because I was there to get help for my club.
“Some of these foreigners like truth and loyalty so I decided to say I am 24 years. The interviewer then said, ‘respect, respect’, and from there, we continued with the interview”, Dabo said.
