Yesterday, the 27-year-old Nigerian chef completed a cooking marathon in which she cooked for 100 hours straight in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for cooking for the longest period of time. In 2019, Hilda Baci broke the previous record set by an Indian cook, Lata Tondon. The former record holder prepared food for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.
The story of Hilda Baci’s record has gone viral around the world, eliciting numerous comments, including one from Ajagurajah, who argues that Hilda’s achievement is not a difficult assignment for him.
According to the leader of Universal Spiritual Outreach, also known as the Ajagurajah Movement in Ghana, he has been cooking for more than 86 hours but has gone unnoticed due to the cooking liturgy associated with his religion.
“I heard a Nigerian lady broke a cooking record of 86 hours. This is even small. I am coming to cook for one-week nonstop. Mine is not even gas, I will be using firewood, one week with cameras on me,” he said in a video shared on his Instagram page.
The post has received over 600 comments from admirers who are rallying behind Ghana’s spiritual leader.
In another video, he claimed that because of his Church’s cooking liturgy, he had cooked for longer hours than anyone else on the planet. “At Easter gatherings, I occasionally slaughter a cow by myself.” People do not support people; if they did, there would be someone who could defeat me in this record.
I recently cooked for extended hours for a full moon ritual. I set this record so many times that nobody ever recorded me. “But this time, I’m not going to take any chances,” he says in the video below.
