Basketmouth, a well-known comedian, has pleaded with Ghanaians to intentionally support local music talents if they want to see them thrive on a worldwide stage.
Respected entertainer Basketmouth made the point that Nigerians were far more forceful in their support of their favorite artists.
He cited this as the main factor behind the success of Nigerian music over the years, both domestically and internationally.
The comedian said that Ghanaians are less enthusiastic about supporting their musical idols but argued that this needs to change if they want to see their artists succeed on a global scale.
“Ghana has a lot of great talent, but the problem is that they’re not getting the support they need to succeed. Nigerians are more aggressive when it comes to promoting their own, and that’s why our music is doing so well”. He said.

The comedian also counseled Ghanaian musicians to promote their music and themselves more actively.
He continued by saying that Ghanaians possessed wealth that Nigerians lacked.
He claimed that venues and event centers in Ghana were superior.
He claimed that Nigeria was lacking in that respect and recommended Ghanaians to make the most of it.
Ghanaians appear to favor Nigerian music over Ghanaian music and have acquired a great liking for it.
