John Dramani Mahama, a flagbearer candidate on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket, will submit his nomination on Tuesday at 1 p.m. to run in the 13th May 2023 primary elections.
The John Mahama Campaign said it is “extremely sorry” for the postponement, which came in response to the party’s request to reschedule due to the party’s Real State of the Country Address being presented on Monday.
But, Mr. Mahama will continue his Ashanti Region first phase visit, which finishes today, according to a statement from Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the former president’s adviser.
Former president John Mahama, who served only one term, is vying for re-election after losing to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the general elections of 2016 and 2020.
According to Mr. Mahama, the Akufo-Addo administration has shifted the nation into reverse.

John Mahama to file nomination on Tuesday
National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspiring presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, will file his nomination to contest the 13th May 2023 primaries on Tuesday at 1.00pm.
Originally planned for Monday, the John Mahama Campaign says it is very sorry for the postponement, which is in response to a request from the party to reschedule because of the presentation of the party’s True State of the Nation Address on Monday.
President Mahama will however continue his first phase tour of the Ashanti Region, which ends today.
