Fuse ODG, a Ghanaian music superstar, has responded to comedian Michael Blackson’s recent claims that there are only four Ghanaian music superstars, unlike in Nigeria.
In a recent appearance on the popular American podcast “Drink Champions,” where he introduced his freshly signed artist, Michael Blackson said that Ghana, unlike Nigeria, does not have more than four (4) music superstars.
Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Black Sheriff were the only four Ghanaian superstars identified by Michael Blackson.
He stated that Nigeria presently has the most productive artists, listing Davido, Burna Boy, Kizz Daniel, and Wizkid as examples.
He described both countries’ entertainment industries as “Nigeria is like New York of music, while Ghana is becoming the Dubai of Africa.”
“Afrobeat is sweeping the globe.
In reality, I founded my own management firm, Michael Balckson Management.
“Now I’ve got one of my first Ghanaians,” Michael Blackson said as he introduced Gambo.
Fuse ODG, a Ghanaian artist, was not amused by his remark and challenged him to do better.
Fuse ODG stated that Michael Blackson’s statements on the show were disappointing, especially since he (Fuse ODG) had introduced him to several Ghanaian artists.
Fuse ODG went on to say that the comedian should quit insulting Ghana on international platforms and instead use them to educate people.
He said “Mike…I’m not sure how you can say there are just four musicians in Ghana on @Drinkchamps.
That’s not cool, bro.
I’ve personally introduced you to many GH artists in Ghana!
smh.
Quit embarrassing us on these platforms…
You are responsible for educating them.”
Michael Blackson has also announced that rapper Gambo is the first signee of his new management label, “Blackson Management.”
In January, the Michael Blackson Foundation launched its first free private school in Agona Nsaba, Michael Blackson’s hometown.
Michael Blackson Management will be his second venture in Ghana.
