Meta has stated that it would begin launching a gradual test of the service this week.
Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has reacted to Facebook and Instagram’s news that they will launch a paid subscription service starting at $11.99 per month.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed this on Sunday, in a move reminiscent of Elon Musk’s Twitter.
In response, the actress stated that she supports the idea, stressing that there will be little distinction between the rich and the poor on social media.
“Verification don turn 3 for 10kobo,” she wrote.
At the very least, we’re all on the same level.
You’re not going to look at me like I got money because of verification.
Grab yours for just $11.
Mark, take care of this one.
This one is Walahi, dear me.
As a result, if I do not receive $11, my badge will be removed!
Wahalaur!”
According to Nkechi Blessing, selling Instagram verification will equalize the rich and poor.

Concerning the verification
The first batch of verification will begin this week, first in Australia and New Zealand, allowing users to “verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support,” according to Zuckerberg.
The new function aims to improve the company’s services’ legitimacy and security.
