As the 2023 elections approach, tensions rise on social media between two Nigerian musicians, Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye of the P-Square group.
More Nigerian celebrity turmoil on social media as musicians Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, a.k.a. Mr. P, attacked each other.
The controversy began when Kuti stated that no politician can save Nigeria but Nigerians themselves.
Kuti’s son claimed that even if Sowore wins the election, he will be unable to effect meaningful change in a country dominated by the PDP and the APC.
He went on to allege that Peter Obi is an opportunist who joined Labour after losing the PDP primaries.

Okoye, a longtime follower of the Obi movement, was moved by the remark.
“Dude just deleted his father’s past,” Peter Okoye responded.
You stated that only Nigeria’s propel can save the country.
Is it true that the PO and the other candidates are not Nigerians?
Shame!
Shame, shame, shame!!!”
Okoye has responded further by calling the afrobeats singer ” nothing” without his Kuti name
He also disparaged Kuti’s music career, labeling him a Grammy nominee who is still struggling.
Remember that Kuti has been nominated for the prestigious prize multiple times but has never won it.
