Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian reggae dancehall artist, has offered his best wishes to Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu, who was rescued from the ruins of an earthquake in Turkey. Shatta Wale sent his friend a good will message on Twitter, writing, ‘Our prayers and thoughts are still with you Christian Atsu, may you be safe.’ Christian Atsu, 31, was caught in the rubble of a fallen 15-story building after an earthquake demolished dozens of residences in Turkey on February 6, 2023, killing and injuring thousands.
Many Ghanaians rejoiced at the news of Atsu’s rescue, as they had been praying for him since the story broke. Meanwhile, Atsu was injured after being pulled from the rubble in which he had been buried for hours.
Hatayspor manager Mustafa zat verified this, saying the Atsu has finally been recovered from the rubble.
He informed Turkish radio station Radyo Gol that the club’s sporting director had yet to be identified.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano had revealed that the Ghanaian winger was having breathing troubles after being rescued.
“Christian Atsu has been found alive and has now been removed from the wreckage and sent to hospital after suffering injuries to his right foot and suffering from breathing issues.
Chris, stay strong!”
Romano posted something on Facebook.
“Christian Atsu was extracted from the crash with injuries,” zat told BBC Sport.
Many other Ghana players and industry colleagues have written special messages to the winger, who is being treated at a Turkish hospital, according to sources.
