Camidoh, a Ghanaian Afropop and R&B artist, has acknowledged that the returns on his 2022 hit track “Sugarcane” might have been higher.
Camidoh claims that his team spent a lot of money to make “Sugarcane” a global hit song, but he believes the return on investment might have been higher.
Camidoh revealed in a new interview with Zeinat on Ameyaw TV. “For starters, it’s cool, but I could have made more, I’m actually not content, not to say I’m ungrateful, but I could have made more.
The whole point of my life and my career is to inspire other people, so I’m really kicking on making sure everything I do inspires people and not to throw dust in their eyes, don’t cap, just keep it real, so I feel like I’ve made some cool money that’s going back into my career, obviously, but I could have made more.”
Camidoh’s major break came in December 2021, when he released “Sugarcane,” a viral hit tune.
Camidoh rose to prominence after the chart-topping “Sugarcane” remix featuring King Promise, Mayorkun, and Darkoo was released in April 2022.
It was an instant success, topping numerous music charts.
