In January 2022, social media was flooded with news of Jessica Opare Saforo’s departure from the Citi FM and Citi TV family.
Jessica had worked with the station for 17 years and has hosted some of the station’s staple programs such as ‘Brunch in the Citi,’ ‘Sex in the Citi,’ ‘Sister Sister,’ ‘Upside Down,’ and ‘Traffic Avenue’ (previously ‘Citi Drive’).
While there were no confirmed reasons for her departure after 17 years at the time, Jessica has now addressed the rumors surrounding her departure in a tell-all video uploaded on her YouTube page.
According to Jessica, the rumors about her feud with her boss were completely false.
“There were rumours floating all over the place things being stated on my behalf that I had no information about, people saying hey I’ve fallen out with a boss, you know and that kind of thing.
“They were all lies,” she claimed in the video. Jessica adds that the true reason she stopped was that she had reached the age of 40 and decided she wanted to do something different with the rest of her life.
“I quit Citi Fm because I thought it was time, it was time to genuinely explore being me.
I had just turned 40 a few months before, and I knew I was going to quit as soon as I reached that age.
“It was only a matter of time,” she said.
Jessica adds that one year after leaving her most well-known position, she has had the most satisfying trip so far. “Has it been a rewarding adventure so far?
Absolutely.
Some of my most outlandish fantasies have come true.
“I’ve done things I never thought I’d be able to do,” Jessica adds.
