Stonebwoy, a Ghanaian reggae dancehall performer, performed brilliantly at the much-anticipated Rebel Salute Festival in Jamaica over the weekend. Stonebwoy, the CEO of Burniton Music Group, was the only African famous performer slated to perform at the two-day concert, which took place on January 20 and 21, 2023 at Plantation Cove in St Ann, Jamaica.
Rebel Salute Music Festival began in 1994 and has been hosted annually in Jamaica around January 15th, the birthday of Tony Rebel, the reggae legend (January 15th 1962). The event is renowned as one of Jamaica’s finest cultures and music events, with the audience getting to experience performances by the best performers in varied genres, playing Reggae, Dancehall, Roots reggae, Reggae fusion, and so on.
The festival was renamed the Pepsi Rebel Salute during a three-year sponsorship relationship with PepsiCo. The agreement was pursued by festival organizers because Pepsi products were more in keeping with the festival’s attitude, which excludes alcohol and pork. Therapy, Wame, Tuffseed, Hero, Gidigba, and a number of his classic songs were among the tracks Stonebwoy performed.
