Lydia Forson, a Ghanaian actress, has warned Ghanaians not to trust on any minister who resigns from their position to run for President.
“Do not believe any presidential candidate who resigned solely to run for president, rather than because they witnessed wrongdoing and wanted to do the right thing,” she said.
Her appointment comes only days after Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanten handed his resignation letter to President Nana Akufo-Addo for his ambition to be the NPP’s flagbearer. It is unclear why he left after serving at the Trade Ministry since 2017, but it is assumed that he did so to allow him to focus on his presidential ambitions.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture, resigned formally on January 10, 2023.
According to insiders, he resigned in order to concentrate on his presidential ambitions, which include leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 general elections.
The actress has been and continues to be a vocal critic of the country’s poor government.
The actress has held this position for several years and continues to advocate for Ghanaians regardless of which government is in power.
