The most streamed female musician in Ghana for 2022, Wendy Shay has achieved another success with the 2023 version of the ‘Shay Concert’.The third edition of the performance, sponsored by Ebony Condoms and powered by Ruff Town Records, took place on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the forecourt of the West Hills Mall, and drew thousands of music aficionados and Wendy Shay fans.
Wendy Shay, through her foundation and Rufftown Records, planned a free health screening and vaccination session at the same location prior to the concert, which began about 7 p.m.
When it came time for the event, the award-winning singer delighted her fans and patrons with an hour of non-stop energy as she dished out famous tunes from her collection.
She occasionally paused to speak with her fans and confirm that she is the best female musician in Ghana right now — and she has clearly earned the title.
Aside from Wendy Shay, the night’s headliner, she received the support of some of Ghana’s best musicians as well as her coworkers.
Fameye, Sister Afia, Eno Barony, Amerado, Ras Kuuku, Kwame Yogot, Larruso, Bosom Pyung, Kwaku Darlington, Darkovibes, Malcolm Nuna, and many others arrived in style and provided fans with a night to remember.
Every inch of the forecourt was taken with music lovers, creating memories.
The huge crowd spilled into the streets, producing a severe traffic gridlock on the Accra-Kasoa expressway.
Over 20,000 people are estimated to have attended.
The first ‘Shay Concert’ took held in 2018, followed by a second edition in 2019.
Wendy Shay and her management, on the other hand, took a break from planning the concert in 2022, when the COVID-19 epidemic brought the entire globe to its knees.
