Sadio Mane, the winger for Bayern Munich, has begun running, which is a significant step in his recovery from a right leg injury suffered in early November.
On November 8, Mane suffered a major injury to his right tibia and required surgery to repair a tendon shortly afterwards.
The Senegalese’s return was originally scheduled for 10-12 weeks, and he’s on track, as the club posted an update of their star man jogging with less weight.
Bayern Munich is shorthanded as the new year begins.
They are missing key players including as Sadio Mane, Manuel Neuer, Noussair Mazraoui, and Lucas Hernandez, with a Champions League knockout stage match against Paris Saint-Germain scheduled for February 14.
The Bundesliga leaders bought Mane from Liverpool last summer in a €41 million (£35 million/$43 million) move, hoping he can lead them to silverware in the 2022-23 season.
The Senegalese winger is set to ramp up his recovery over the coming weeks, with a view to returning in time for Bayern Munich’s Champions League and Bundesliga
