Afia Schwarzenegger, a Ghanaian actress, and comedian who was found guilty of contempt of court and given a ten-day jail sentence, has apologized in writing to the Tema High Court.
After making specific comments in a matter that was still ongoing before the court, the actress and three other celebrities who functioned as pundits on UTV’s showbiz program were found guilty of contempt.
Afia received a ten-day jail sentence in contrast to Felicity Ama Agyeman, nicknamed Nana Ama Mcbrown, Kwame Asare Obeng, or Kwame A Plus, and Emmanuel Barnes, aka Mr. Logic, who were each fined GH60,000 (5,000 penalty units).
But even though the court canceled the bench warrant for Afia Schwar’s arrest, she hasn’t yet fulfilled the 10-day jail sentence.
The actress begged the court to pardon her behavior in the statement, where she acknowledged that her acts and behavior on United Showbiz were improper. She committed to acting more appropriately in public going forward.
The case’s judge, Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, has reportedly postponed hearings until January 17, 2023.
According to Graphic Showbiz, the court stated that the verdict would be rendered on the specified day.

APOLOGY TO THE HONOURABLE COURT
I, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, aka Queen Afia Schwarzenegger, do express my sincerest and deepest apologies to the Honourable Court and to the entire public for my comments on the United Showbiz program on UTV.
I, against my better judgment, was a panelist on the aforementioned show which discussed among other things, a matter that was before the court. Whilst it was never my intention to delve into the substance of the matter, have come to the realization, though belatedly that my conduct and comments, should have been measured by caution and restraint.
The discussion on the show had the tendency of bringing the authority of the Court into question and upon sober reflection, unreservedly apologize for my actions and conduct and any role played in the events that ensued on that program.
I will always from hereon endeavor, to conduct my affairs in a manner that will not cause public disaffection nor seek to undermine the Courts of our land. As said on that fateful day, respects our courts and their authority, and urge my fans, sympathizers, and followers to learn the right lessons from all that has transpired.
I pray that the honorable court shall accept this sincere apology. I state once again that I believe and trust in the authority of our courts to deliver justice where it is due, and I shall continue to trust that the substantive matter will be adjudicated fairly and justly.
