Bulldog has escalated his internet feud with controversial dancehall rapper Shatta Wale.Bullgod, Shatta Wale’s former manager, has officially sued the rapper over some damaging claims. The two had been fighting for quite some time, and a slew of claims and surprising disclosures had surfaced as a result.
Bulldog’s complaint comes after Shatta Wale alleged the artist management was involved in the death of Kwaw Kese’s manager, Fennec Okyere.
On November 2, 2022, Shatta Wale made these charges in a Facebook post.
“Bulldog, since you are leaking secrets, you will tell Ghanaians what happened to Fenicks (sic) Murder!!” Shata Wale tweeted.
And I’m not kidding about this!!
“I am ready to tell the court about what you told me about you and your men and how you planned that foolish act, get ready. This Akufo-Addo won’t give you a murderer (sic) chance to be on our streets!!! Watch how this ends!!! You can’t fight time!!!”
According to the writ filed by Bulldog’s lawyer, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, these remarks intended to imply that his client planned, affected, or was involved in Mr. Okyere’s death.
Bullgod filed the writ under his government name, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, in the Accra High Court, seeking damages for the defendant’s defamatory and malicious utterances against him.
He was named the plaintiff, while the defendant was Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., also known as Shatta Wale alias Bandana.
The writ further stated that Shatta Wale’s assertions implied “that the Plaintiff is a criminal thug and a menace to society and should be imprisoned” (rather than walk freely in the streets).
“That his (the Defendant’s) claims in the publication are factual, truthful, and must be taken seriously by the public and law enforcement authorities.”
The defamation complaint also included statements made by Shatta Wale in now-deleted Facebook posts about former President John Dramani Mahama and President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Shatta Wale revealed information of private chats Bulldog reportedly had with John Mahama.
He is quoted as saying, “You claimed former President Mahama asked you if you could recruit gunmen to do some work for him, correct?”
You stated that Mahama advised you to be harsh on Akuffo Addo.
These statements imply that “the Plaintiff is a person who engages in illicit gun violence, contract killing, and other related crimes,” as well as “that the Plaintiff is in the trade of procuring, controlling, and arranging prostitutes in exchange for money and other material gains,” according to the lawyers.
Shatta Wale has been given eight days to appear.
If he fails to comply, judgment may be rendered without his knowledge.
