Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, better known as Strika in the Hollywood film ‘Beast of No Nation,’ has returned to the spotlight on social media after a lengthy absence.
While his fellow actor Abraham Attah soared to international stardom, Strika has struggled to make headway in his career.
He has occasionally been in the news for failing to capitalize on the fame he gained through his role in the worldwide film ‘Beast of No Nation.’
Well, the young actor has been discovered once more in a new film selling coconut in a wheelbarrow.
In the video, the born star is seen pushing a wheelbarrow full of coconut for his daily bread.
This isn’t the first time the young actor has been sighted on Accra’s streets.
Caleb Nii Boye, an entertainment writer, spotted him in town in 2018 and led the effort to get him off the streets.
According to an article on Ghanaweekend.com
Strika revealed that his managers had not provided him the $30,000 that had been paid to him by the makers of ‘Best of No Nation.
Strika stated in an interview that he would rather study a trade than return to school.
According to the headteacher of the Cape Coast Montessori, he was using drugs at the time and was obstinate.
When the news first emerged several years ago, the media and other interested parties volunteered to help the young man get back on his feet, but nothing came of it.
‘Beasts of No Nation’ is a 2015 American war drama film written, co-produced, and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who also served as cinematographer, about a young boy who becomes a child soldier during his country’s horrible conflict.
The film, which was shot in Ghana and stars Idris Elba, Abraham Attah, Ama K. Abebrese, Grace Nortey, David Dontoh, and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe, is based on Uzodinma Iweala’s 2005 novel of the same name, which was titled after a Fela Kuti album.
