Black Sherif, Ghana’s music industry darling, has taken the big stage with his new album ‘The Villain I Never Was.’
Black Sherif blends cultures in The Villain I Never Was by combining his native tongue of Twi and his gift for storytelling with “asakaa” (the Ghanaian take on the popular drill sound) and Afrobeats.
The long-awaited debut album, titled ‘The Villian I Never Was,’ was released at midnight on October 6, 2022, and has crowned trends on Ghanaian social media platforms.
The 14-track album includes his monster hits ‘Second Sermon’ remix with Burna Boy, Kwaku The Traveller, and Soja, which was dropped a few weeks before the album.
‘The Homeless Song,’ ‘Oil In My Head,’ ’45,’ ‘Prey Da Youngsta,’ ‘Sad Boys Don’t Fold,’ ‘Konongo Zongo,’ ‘Wasremwn,’ ‘We Up,’ ‘Toxic Love,’ ‘Don’t Forget Me,’ and ‘Oh Paradise’ are among the new additions.
