Kenya Airways reported that its affiliate Fahari Aviation has agreed to buy 40 electric vertical take-offs and landing (eVTOL) aircraft from Brazilian firm EVE UAM LLC by the year 2026.
In 2026, the eVTOLs will be delivered to Kenya Airways subsidiary Fahari Aviation. The agreement supports a significant expansion strategy for Kenya Airways, according to the company’s CEO, Allan Kilavuka. Please be aware that eVTOL is the newest advancement in aviation technology, making it simpler and less fossil-fuel dependant to navigate around urban areas.
The airline stated in a notice published on its website and obtained by Business Insider Africa that the agreement also includes cooperative studies to expand and scale Kenya’s urban air mobility industry. 40 Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft will be purchased by Kenya Airways through its subsidiary Fahari Aviation, according to a contract inked between the two parties.
We are proud to represent urban air mobility in the area because it is the future of transportation. The path toward Kenya’s realization of the dream of eVTOL vehicles is well on, and our partnership with EVE UAM represents a significant step forward in our efforts to integrate new technologies as a growth strategy for the continent’s sustainable development.
But it won’t be until 2026 when the corporation receives the plane. Fahari Aviation will keep working to create novel and long-lasting solutions for problems like traffic congestion, effective package delivery, agriculture, animal conservation, etc.
To advance Kenya’s emerging urban air mobility market, Fahari Aviation intends to fully utilize EVE’s zero-emission and low-noise eVTOL technology as well as its global experience. Keep in mind that eVTOL, the newest advancement in aviation technology, enables aircraft to take off, hover, and land vertically without the use of runways. It was made to make it simpler to move around cities while preventing traffic.
