On July 6, 2021, this date exactly seven years after singer Castro and his friend Janet Bandu vanished, his song “Bone Shaker (Sweetie Darling)” trended on TikTok.
The two were apparently lost at sea while out on a boating excursion with footballer Asamoah Gyan and his brothers near the Ada estuary.
All searches for them have been fruitless.
Castro and Miss Badu were declared legally dead in July 2021 in accordance with Acts of Ghana, 1975, Section 3, which states that a person can only be declared legally dead after seven years by a court when the person in question has not been seen or heard from in seven years despite diligent and persistent efforts to find him.
Today, July 6, 2022, is the ninth anniversary of their passing.
Castro may still be missing or dead, but his wonderful music continues to exist and is currently a TikTok craze.
For weeks, the social media app has been trending Castro’s smash song “Bone Shaker (Sweetie Darling),” with singers like Mr. Drew joining the challenge.
